The Black Box DisplayPort Extender is a high performance KVM extender that enables you to locate your critical computing hardware in a secure and temperature controlled environment away from the user work station while maintaining the same user desktop experience.

It can transmit either two 1920 x 1200 video streams or one higher resolution video stream (2560 x 1600 WQXGA), digital audio (S/PDIF), analog audio, Hi-Speed USB 2.0 and USB 2.0 (full and low speed) over CATx cables.

Perfect digital video, real time control
The system is uncompressed, sending every pixel of every frame without loss. The receiver supports DisplayPort Dual Mode (DP++), meaning monitors that only support HDMI or DVI can be used (with the correct adapter cable).

Single CATx cable
Video, USB, and audio all pass along a single cable. A second CATx cable is required for the Hi-Speed USB 2.0 extension and increased video bandwidth.

Up to 492 feet (150 m) extension distances
Distance is dependent on the monitor resolution, number of monitors, cable type, and the number of connection breaks for patch panels and wall plates.

USB 2.0
Enables connection of any USB human interface device from mice and keyboards through to graphics tablets, jog wheels, joysticks and 3D explorers. Mass storage devices and isochronous devices such as webcams and headsets can be used through the transparent USB 2.0 Hi-Speed port.

EDID management
The system has intelligent EDID management to allow the true characteristics of the monitor to be passed back to the computer.

Plug and play
This extender solution is plug-and-play. There is no need for drivers or software to be installed.

Digital audio
Supports the S/PDIF interface via an optical 3.5mm jack socket (dual use with analog audio via mini Toslink).

HD-quality analog audio
HD-audio quality (stereo channel 24 bit sampled at 96kHz) is available to transfer audio from local to remote for Line In / Line. Headsets with integrated microphone use cases are also supported.

Purely digital for pure video
Because the extender delivers full DVI digital video without compression or conversion, you get pure video displays with no loss of quality. The extender uses two CAT7 cables to extend keyboard, mouse, and uncompressed single-link DVI-D video up to 165 feet (50 m) at full 1920 x 1200 at 60 Hz or 3840 x 2400 at 17 Hz resolution! It's ideal where you want to reduce environment concerns, such as heat and noise, and ensure optimal temperature control.

USB transparent connection
Alongside fully uncompressed DVI video, The ServSwitch? Wizard SRX DVI-D Plus USB Extender, Dual Head delivers bidirectional USB data, enabling USB device extension over 165 feet (50 m) on the same CATx cable. This makes the extenders ideal for distributed workstations where you want to reduce environmental concerns such as heat and noise. A typical example of this would be post-production suites. By centralizing your workstations, you can also extend operation lifespan by ensuring optimal temperature control and minimal physical disturbance. The Wizard SRX DVI-D supports a variety of USB keyboards and mice as well as other human interface devices (HIDs) such as touchscreens.

Extended profile DDC EDID
The Wizard DVI/USB carries extended profile DDC EDID data from your display device to the display adapter to ensure that your system is configured to deliver optimal video performance. The extended profile DDC EDID is particularly important when extending video to high performance display devices. This is essential for professional graphics users such as post production, broadcast, architecture, graphic design, medical imaging, CAD or any other applications where display performance is critical.

19" mounting
Because of its small-form factor, you can mount up to 16 local or remote units in the separately sold Rackmount Chassis for ServSwitch Wizard Extender (ACU5000A).

Interface-powered local unit
The local unit of the Wizard can be interface powered if your attached PC outputs do not exceed 500 mA. Otherwise, use the spare 5-VDC Power Supply (PS649-R3), (sold separately).
